An Intimate Wedding + Proposal in Rocheport, Missouri | Katie & Andrew
Katie and Andrew are one incredibly passionate and kind couple. They care about genuine moments, and they love to have fun. Oh, and they enjoy pretty details. Katie and Andrew decided to get married on May 7th of 2021, and we are excited to be part of their May 2022 celebration of their marriage.
These two decided to exchange their vows in front of a close group of family in Rocheport, Missouri. However, for their reception, they plan to celebrate their first year as a married couple at Blue Bell Farm, a historic farm and quaint wedding venue located in Fayette, Missouri. Their wedding reception is in conjunction with the Kentucky Derby, which means it’ll be full of horse motifs, fun colors, fabulous foods, and, of course, a horse race.

Many thanks to our super vendor friend, Lighter Focus Photography, for sharing these images with our team!
Tell me about how you and Andrew met.
Katie was working at Boone Hospital Center as a physical therapist and Andrew was working in medical sales. They happened to continuously be sharing the same patients, running in to each other within the hospital and their working relationship turned in to a friendship and then grew from there.
Who proposed? Tell me about it!
Andrew proposed on 9/10/20 and it was a total surprise! Katie went on a run and asked Andrew to pick her up, and when she got to her destination Andrew was already there waiting for her on one knee.
How did you pick Blue Bell Farm as your Reception venue?
Initially we set a date and worked backwards from there of what was available. After touring several venues, we looked at what would fit the feel of the day as well as what would a big enough space to have other "non dancing" spaces.
How did you find all of your vendors?
We started the research from both referrals of friends and family as well as saveourdate.com. From there, lots of deep diving on vendor's social media sites and emails and interviews and just making the best fit for us.
So far, what aspect of planning has been the most enjoyable?
I think deciding how we want to make the day our own and figuring out how to make that happen with fun ideas and input from others.
Do you have any advice for recently engaged couples?
Make lists, get a calendar, and write everything down (it helps me to actually see it all in one place). And also hire Terra to keep you organized!
What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding reception?
Having fun with our family and friends and just having everyone we love all in one place.
what are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?
Relaxed, non-traditional, and fun! I wish I could come up with something better for this one but that is really all I can say. I just hope from pure joy from everyone.
What made you decide to hire a planner?
I hired a planner at the recommendation of my future mother-in-law. They had hired one for a previous wedding and said it was the best way to fully enjoy the day.
Hey, I’m Terra!
Born and raised in Missouri, I’m a grateful wife and dog mom to my rescue pups, Hildi & Lola. I’m a true believer in the pursuit of bold dreams, learning from mistakes, and staying curious.
I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!
