An Engagement Session at Blue Bell Farm in Fayette, MO | Jessica + Cole

Jessica and Cole approached our team very early in 2021 to chat with us about planning, and we knew immediately that we were going to be a perfect match. Throughout our entire consultation, Jessica had a huge smile on her face, chatting through the details of her wedding and beyond excited to marry Cole.

Jessica and Cole plan to exchange their vows this spring at Blue Bell Farm, a beautiful outdoor wedding venue located near Columbia, Missouri. They have hired an outstanding team of vendors to execute their wedding day so that they can fully celebrate their wedding day. We have several more weeks before we celebrate, so call us eagerly waiting in joyful anticipation.

Jessica and Cole shared with us some details about their proposal, how the selected Blue Bell Farm as their wedding venue, and so much more. Be sure to keep reading to hear more about their engagement and their wedding planning strategy.

Many thanks to our vendor friend, Kiley Ann Photography, for sharing these images with our team!

Tell me about how you and cole met.

Cole moved up to Columbia from Jonesboro, Arkansas with his parents in February 2019. We met shortly after he moved up and exchanged Snapchats and eventually phone numbers. Cole finally decided it was time to go on a first date. We went to Flat Branch and had the best first date ever. This was the first semester of nursing school for Jessica, so we took our time and became really good friends. We started officially dating in June!

Who proposed? Tell me about it!

Cole killed it! He planned pictures for us in Forest Park STL. I had been wanting to get some professional pictures done and we kept having to cancel them. He told me it was to make up for those and after we would go out to dinner in STL to celebrate me passing my nursing boards, Cole’s birthday, and Valentine’s Day. On one of the coldest days this past winter, Feb 13th, we went to forest park and meet with a photographer to pictures. During the pictures Cole proposed! After the proposal we defrosted in Cole’s truck and then went to dinner. At dinner, Cole surprised me again! He had rented out a private room and had his parents, his sister, and my parents there!

How did you pick Blue bell farm as your wedding venue?

We looked at several venues, but we were looking for a place that felt special for us and our guests. We toured Blue Bell and fell in love with it! We loved meeting with Jamie and felt like it was going to be the perfect spot for our wedding. We also liked the idea of having a place near where we are located. Jessica's family is in KC and STL so it's in the middle for them.

How did you find all of your vendors?

We found most vendors through preferred vendors from Blue Bell Farm and from vendor info on Plan it Terra’s Instagram.

So far, what aspect of planning has been the most enjoyable?

I am excited for working with Plan it Terra and Pretty Little Things on the decor!

Do you have any advice for recently engaged couples?

Take it a day at a time! Remember the priority is getting married and all the other details will just make the day better and better. Prioritize what's important to you and your fiance and focus on that first!

What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?

I am excited about getting MARRIED! I can't wait to be able to see all our family and friends and have them be a part of our day.

what are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?

Elegant, Classic, Special

What made you decide to hire a planner?

Being a nurse with covid, life is already stressful. Thinking about pulling together all the details became very stressful. We also wanted to have all of our family members enjoy the day and not feel obligated to help or have tasks to do.

Hey, I’m Terra!

Born and raised in Missouri, I’m a grateful wife and dog mom to my rescue pups, Hildi & Lola. I’m a true believer in the pursuit of bold dreams, learning from mistakes, and staying curious.

I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!

I’ve created this blog and my wedding packages to empower you to plan an awesome wedding day and put all of the stress and obligations straight into the dumpster! Now that sounds like a party.
