“Welcome to Walmart”
For Mikayla and Shane, this is where their love story began. Who would have thought while working the aisles of Walmart that they would have found their soul mate. Years later, they are still madly in love and ready to say “I Do”.
These two will exchange their vows July 16, 2022 at Sons and Daughters, a brand new wedding venue located in Rolla, MO. This venue is intimate and modern, which is exactly the vibe that Mikayla and Shane envision for their special day.

Tell me about how you and Shane met.
We both met in high school working at Walmart!
Who proposed? Tell me about it!
Shane proposed. We took a trip to Oregon and our first stop there was Portland. We left our Airbnb early in the morning and headed to the International Rose Test Garden where he popped the question! A photographer got the best shot of that moment.
How did you pick Sons and Daughters as your wedding venue?
We weren’t finding anything we loved in the STL area and decided to take a road trip to Sons and Daughters. We knew that was the place [after touring]!
How did you find all of your vendors?
We found our vendors all through our venue’s Instagram! Looking through vendors who have been at our venue since it’s relatively new helped a lot. Also we got some help from Plan it Terra!
So far, what aspect of planning has been the most enjoyable?
Figuring out the style of wedding we want has been fun!
Do you have any advice for recently engaged couples?
Save money as soon as possible and try to make a list of EVERYTHING you will need on the wedding day, especially the small things because they add up quick and are easy to forget about. 😅
What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?
We are most excited about celebrating with friends and family!!
what are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?
Modern, classy, relaxed
What made you decide to hire a planner?
We get overwhelmed easily and our friend strongly suggested getting at least a day of wedding coordinator. Very happy with our decision to reach out to you guys!
