Lexi + Deven | A Wedding at Wildcliff Weddings & Events
Lexi and Deven’s engagement brings us back to 2020 when the two bought their dream property to build a home on. It was at this property that he would propose to her in 2021 after stringing up a bunch of Christmas lights in a clearing on the property According to Lexi, who has an obsession with Christmas lights, it was truly magical!
Lexi and Deven got married on a beautiful, windy day at Wildcliff Weddings & Events. The couple chose to conduct their ceremony at the venue’s outdoor property on a gorgeous lakefront. After the official ceremony, they met their loved ones back at The Hollow, a quaint indoor reception venue which is part of Wildcliff Weddings & Events.
We asked Lexi, “What made you choose to work with Plan it Terra? Why did that matter to you?”
Lexi and her bridal party got ready for the day’s celebration at Iron Horse Hotel, a cute boutique hotel located in downtown Blackwater. After their hair and makeup finished, the group made their way to Wildcliff’s outdoor space, which is the home of the Bridal Cottage. Here is where the ladies got dressed and made the final touches to their wedding day looks.
Elizabeth LaDean from Elizabeth LaDean Photography was a dream to work with both on the wedding day and leading up to the wedding day. She is incredibly upbeat and collaborative, and we love everything about her! This amazing photography bounced from portrait location to portrait location with the support of our teammate, Zoe. Zoe helped make the sure the men were dressed and ready for portraits inside the Man Cave; we love the photo Elizabeth captured of Zoe pinning boutonnieres. Zoe and Elizabeth tag-teamed to get the bride and groom ready for their picturesque first look; we LOVE when couples choose to use the cliffs as the location of their first look. It is so amazing.
It was important to Lexi and Deven to capture as many photos before the ceremony, so the duo took additional photos with their bridal party around the Cliffs. Boy was it a gorgeous, but windy, October day. After wedding party photos, we rolled into family photos, which went so quickly due to preparing a family photo shot list in advance.
We made sure to give the couple ample time to rest before the ceremony began, which allowed Elizabeth and James Smith, the day’s fantastic videographer, to capture the ceremony site and the reception site. We love buffering a bit of time of rest before the ceremony to allow the bride and groom to rest, relax, do some minor touch ups, and focus on the most important aspect of the day - getting married!
The ceremony was in front of the venue’s gorgeous blue lake. Lexi and Deven chose to use the venue’s round arbor, which was beautifully adorned with a vibrant floral arrangement from Allen’s Flowers. The pop of red was so fun! As the groom, family, and wedding party made their way down to the ceremony, the bride got ready to walk down the aisle.
Once the ceremony wrapped up, the couple took a few more portraits together before heading to the reception, which was at The Hollow. The couple greeted their guests by an energetic grand entrance to Bruno Mars “24k.” Lexi and Deven gave a brief welcome speech before dinner was served by Brancato’s Catering. The Hollow looked absolutely stunning with warm candlelight, pops of red florals, and vintage pieces provided by Pretty Little Things. After dinner, the two cut their cake and made their way to the dance floor. Lexi’s first dance with her dad was going to be an entire production as her father taught a step team in the local area. His entire step team had planned to participate in the father/daughter first dance, but due to wildfires in the area, the highway was shut down, thus not allowing the team to make it on time. Lexi was such a great sport, still taking to the dance floor with her dad to do a father/daughter duo step dance.
The evening ended with lots of dancing and a faux sparkler exit outside the Hollow’s main doors. It was an incredible day, and we are so excited for Lexi and Deven to spend their lives together as husband and wife. Lexi and Deven hired our team for Month-of Coordination, and their wedding was led by Associate Planner, Abby. This planning experience included timeline development and collaboration, confirmation of final details with vendors, ceremony rehearsal management, wedding day management, and more.
We asked Lexi, “What would you say to a couple who is thinking about booking us?”
