You never know what to expect from the weather in Missouri, especially in November; however, for this November wedding, we could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The first time Mackenzie and TJ saw one another was during the First Look at Peace Park, located on the Northside of Mizzou’s campus. This bride and groom were all smiles throughout their First Look, and the chemistry between them was absolutely apparent. Mackenzie and TJ exchanged their vows in a super sweet, private ceremony at First Presbyterian Church, located in downtown Columbia, Missouri. Later that evening, they were joined by friends and family for a celebratory reception at The Atrium on Tenth, where they laughed, cried, and danced the evening away.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Mackenzie’s mother owns a nursery, which made it an easy choice to select fresh flowers from for the wedding. Mackenzie, along with her mother and some friends, designed all of the floral arrangements and the personal flowers.

• I found out very quickly that Mackenzie and TJ hold their friendships very tightly. There are two incredibly selfless and giving people, and it was more apparent when TJ told me that he had not only donated bone marrow once but twice in his life. One very special invite to the wedding was one of the receipts of the bone marrow transplant.

• TJ and Mackenzie met while giving swim lessons at MU’s Rec Center. There, they were assigned to two siblings for swim lessons. During those swim lessons, they spent a lot of time getting to know each other eventually leading them to date and then becoming engaged. These two siblings, along with a third sibling, all had honorary roles in their wedding as flower girls and ring bearer.

We loved working with this absolutely wonderful couple. For their coordination services, they hired Plan it Terra to lead a variety of planning meetings, create a detailed timeline, oversee setup and details, take care of emergencies, pin boutonnieres to groomsmen, manage vendor arrivals and departure, and so much more. I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!
