Margaret + Beau | Colorful Wedding Inspiration at The Millbottom in Jefferson City, Missouri
I don’t think that you could find two more genuine and genuinely-in-love (maybe I’ll use the word “smitten”) to describe Beau and Margaret. These sweet humans exchanged their “I Do’s” at Faith Lutheran Church on August 15th, 2020, and they celebrated their new marriage at a lively reception hosted at The Millbottom, an industrial wedding venue located in downtown Jefferson City, Missouri.
Margaret is a fellow wedding industry friend and owner of Sentimentally Yours Event Co., so you can imagine that she planned her wedding full of intention and beautiful details. She mixed and matched a colorful palette of peaches, pinks, creams, and blues, which you know that I love. Sugarberry Blooms provided a delightful assortment of punchy bud vases and a gorgeous floral installation for the center of the head table.
HIGHLIGHTS
Margaret and Beau opted for a First Look, which allowed them to spend most of the day with each other. Additionally, they had the ability to take portraits during the first look, after the ceremony, and at sunset. Talk about a wide selection of photos to choose from!
Margaret and I had many conversations leading up to her wedding day about the construction happening at the Capitol building. She had always wanted to take portraits in front of the building (it is a Jeff City favorite!), but we were not sure if construction was going to be completed by the time of her wedding. Fortunately, the building was mostly clear of construction by the time of their wedding day.
Margaret’s mom reached out to me weeks before the wedding stating that she along with Beau’s family were planning a flash mob for the reception. She asked if I could keep it a secret from the couple and help coordinate details with the vendor team. With several dozen family members rehearsed and ready, they surprised Beau and Margaret with a choreographed dance to the song “Happy.” I don’t think the smiles could be wiped from anyone’s face that evening.
It was an honor to support this kind couple celebrate their wedding day to the fullest. While Margaret fully planned a stylish wedding for her friends and loved ones, I was delighted to be asked to be her sideCHICK to execute the day. For her wedding coordination services, we assisted with last-minute setup and details, oversaw vendor arrivals and departure, assisted with basic decor breakdown, managed the timeline for the day, and so much more. Thank you, Margaret and Beau, for inviting Plan it Terra to be part of your special day. Many thanks to Kelsi Kliethermes Photography for sharing these wonderful photos that will be treasured forever.

Hey, I’m Terra!
Born and raised in Missouri, I’m a grateful wife and dog mom to my rescue pups, Hildi & Lola. I’m a true believer in the pursuit of bold dreams, learning from mistakes, and staying curious.
I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!
I’ve created this blog and my wedding packages to empower you to plan an awesome wedding day and put all of the stress and obligations straight into the dumpster! Now that sounds like a party.
