A Mid-Mo Engagement | Katie + Brett
To say that Brett is head over heels for Katie would be an understatement. After many attempts to ask for Katie’s hand in marriage and each attempt not working out for one reason or another, Brett mustered up the courage. On a lazy day, Brett, with tears in his eyes, was ready to ask Katie to be his wife. Needless to say, Katie said, “yes!”
Katie & Brett’s union as husband and wife will be held outside at Emerson Fields, a gorgeous wedding venue located in Central Missouri. Afterwards, they will celebrate their marriage by enjoying a variety of tasty foods from food truck vendors and dancing the night away. They have hired an outstanding team of vendors to execute their wedding day so that they can fully celebrate their wedding day. We have several more weeks before we celebrate, so call us eagerly waiting in joyful anticipation.

Tell me about how you met.
We met at a fourth of July party in 2018 thanks to mutual friends who are now married! We talked for a bit at the party but really connected afterward when Brett messaged me on Facebook - we went on our first date a week later and have been stuck at the hip ever since.
Who proposed? Tell me about it!
Brett! The poor guy had a million and one different ideas that kept falling through - a trip to Branson to see the Christmas lights, a spot overlooking the Missouri river, a decked-out apartment....but it ended up being a lazy Saturday morning a few weeks before Christmas - I was in bed laughing at TikTok and he walked in with tears in his eyes saying "I can't wait any longer." 🥰
How did you pick emerson fields as your wedding venue?
Heard about it from a friend, looked it up, and knew instantly it was the one for us!
How did you find all of your vendors?
Google, Friends, and Vendor Referrals!
So far, what aspect of planning has been the most enjoyable?
Doing all of the invitations and letting everyone know!
Do you have any advice for recently engaged couples?
Give yourself time! Work on things together, HIRE TERRA!
What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?
Brett: "Honestly the food trucks....well, marrying you of course, but..."
Katie: “Having all of our people together in one place!”
what are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?
Fresh, Joyful, Relaxed
What made you decide to hire a planner?
Seeing our friends get married and not having a planner; helping them do everything the weeks and days before and seeing the bride cry on the wedding day because of the stress and exhaustion. We agreed any amount of money is worth it to be able to focus on our love on our big day!
