For the exchange of vows, Anthony and Mikala chose Rose Music Hall, an eclectic concert and event venue located in downtown Columbia, Missouri. The venue choice made it easy to take photos at the University of Missouri and for their guests to stay at The Broadway Hotel. Getting Ready at The Broadway Hotel
The wedding day began with the bride and groom enjoying a delightful breakfast together before retreating to their separate rooms at The Broadway Hotel to prepare for the day's festivities. Consolidating everyone in one location streamlined their wedding day logistics. While the ladies indulged in professional hair and makeup services, the gentlemen took a moment to unwind before donning their suits and adorning boutonnieres. With the assistance of my team, Mikala was gracefully guided through her pre-wedding preparations before the entourage departed for downtown Columbia.
First Look
Anthony and Mikala shared a heartfelt moment in downtown Columbia for their first look. Mikala did an entire twirl for Anthony to see her stunning gown accented with a giant bow. The couple had the opportunity to spend some quiet moments together before they, along with their wedding party, headed to Mizzou’s campus to take portraits.

Continuing with the modern, minimalist wedding design, the couple chose sleek black attire for their wedding party. The entire group looked absolutely chic. This particular summer wedding in Columbia provided perfect portrait lighting as clouds were in the sky all day. Amidst joyous laughter, the wedding party shared meaningful connections before making their way to the ceremony reception at Rose Music Hall.

The vendor team faced an exciting challenge as Mikala, Anthony, and their wedding party posed for portraits at Mizzou. The entire creative team worked diligently to organize every detail, paying special attention to the many layers that would make this modern minimalist wedding truly special for the couple. The first layer for setup included a tent installation, lighting, and dance floor followed by tables, chairs, and all of the little things that brought this day to life.
Throughout the day, we kept a close eye on the weather, typical for Missouri summers. As a storm loomed over Columbia, the team quickly adapted, pausing momentarily before swiftly transforming the reception space. Despite the unexpected interruption, the modern minimalist aesthetic shone through, with acrylic signage, shimmering disco balls, chic midcentury furniture, and whimsical floral arrangements tying everything together.
Outdoor Summer Wedding
Anthony and Mikala’s July wedding day at Rose Music Hall graced them with perfect weather only moments before the ceremony began. The rain showers stopped, allowing the sun to peek through the clouds. Anthony and Mikala case to have the wedding ceremony on the stage at Rose Music Hall while their guests watched from underneath the white tent in the event of more inclement weather.
