When I think of memorable weddings, I will always think of Nell and Donnie’s fall, boho wedding. I’ve known Nell since she was a sophomore in high school, so this particular marriage celebration was extremely exciting to me. I felt like that older sister, proud of my younger sibling who has come so far. Nell and Donnie celebrated their marriage at Sorenson Estate, which is a beautiful wedding venue nestled in a secluded area not to far from the hustle and bustle of Columbia, Missouri.

They selected the perfect color palette for the fall; we loved the rich hues of oranges and variety of peach-y pinks of the florals that Bare Roots designed. Nell was stunning with her copper eyeshadow and chic hair ornament that accented her long flowing hair. The day was full of tender moments, whether during the ceremony, toasts, or special dances - it was hard to not fight back joy-filled tears all day long.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Nell has an incredibly close relationship with her mother, and they exchanged a mother/daughter dance during the reception. However, Nell is also extremely close to her uncles, so during her dance with mom, her uncles approached the dance floor and took turns dancing with the bride. Needless to say, it was a sentimental moment.

• The bride and groom chose to not have a first look with each other. Instead, they did first looks with the opposite person’s attendants. We loved the groom’s father’s reaction to seeing Nell for the very first time in her wedding day attire.

• Nell is a bit of an artist herself, so she created a paint-by-number of her dog, Freda. Guests were encouraged to paint a section of the sketch; it was such a fun, creative idea for guests to entertain themselves and a fun keepsake for after the wedding.

We provided Event Management & Hospitality services for Nell & Donnie, which included attending a variety of planning meetings, creating a detailed timeline, facilitating the rehearsal, managing their wedding day, bussing tables, event setup & teardown, and so much more.
