Spring Engagement at Les Bourgeois | Josh + Anna

Anna and Josh - I often find myself mesmerized by their kindness, intelligence, humor, and for sure, their creativity. You will find yourself laughing out loud if you read the poem they wrote about how they met (keep scrolling). It involves swiping right to a picture of a goofy-looking cat profile picture.

This love story begins in Columbia, Missouri where Anna and Josh first met each other. They will get married in early May at Blue Bell Farm, a luxurious estate wedding venue located in Fayette, Missouri. They’ve chosen to get married on the property’s vast lawn, which will be adorned with a beautiful floral moongate installed by MU Tiger Garden. Their celebration will continue with an intimate reception inside the venue’s main barn where drinks, dancing, and joyful conversation will be enjoyed by all.

To learn more about why they chose their wedding venue and to read some of their advice for newly engaged couples, be sure to keep scrolling down. Our team is excited to finalize their wedding day details and get these two married. Be sure to check out these wonderful engagement photos from Kelsi Kliethermes Photography.

We met on a dating app.

She was a very polite cat.

He swiped right and *GASP,*

It was the puurrrfect match!

We met in real-life,

She wasn't actually a cat... Still

He thought she was very polite!

"Could this woman perhaps be my Wife?"

We will meet at the alter

and be bonded in meowwtrimony,

Our love to never falter,

Each the other's one and only.

Tell me about how you and Anna met.

A classic love story. We both swiped right!

Who proposed? Tell me about it!

I (Josh) proposed on our first anniversary, but, I knew I was going to do it long before then! So, it's the day of our anniversary and, due to the pandemic/lockdown, we can't go anywhere to celebrate. Instead, we have a wonderful day of enjoying each other's company and end it by making a wonderful dinner at home. Afterwords, we sit down on the couch to relax and cuddle. The ring is in my pocket and my heart is about to rip through my chest, when I finally worked up the strength/courage to ask her the big question. And she was in complete and utter SHOCK! Totally surprised! And she obviously said yes :)

How did you pick your blue bell farm as your wedding venue?

It just felt right! As soon as we stepped out of the car, to start our tour, we knew it was the spot for us!

How did you find all of your vendors?

Google is great!

So far, what aspect of planning has been the most enjoyable?

All of it has been pretty enjoyable! Putting together the website (specifically, our 'how we met' poem) was a lot of fun!

Do you have any advice for recently engaged couples?

Start early and do your due diligence! Stay cool and don't lose sight of the forest by getting lost in the trees!

What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?

EVERYTHING!

what are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?

Ecstatic! Happy! Anxious (about the planning aspect, JUST TO CLARIFY lol)

What made you decide to hire a planner?

Wanting to have support and someone in our corner that has our best interest and helps to ease the stress as we get closer to the big day!

Hey, I’m Terra!

Born and raised in Missouri, I’m a grateful wife and dog mom to my rescue pups, Hildi & Lola. I’m a true believer in the pursuit of bold dreams, learning from mistakes, and staying curious.

I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!

I’ve created this blog and my wedding packages to empower you to plan an awesome wedding day and put all of the stress and obligations straight into the dumpster! Now that sounds like a party.
