Classic Black Tie Wedding at The Millbottom in Jefferson City, Missouri
I immediately connected with Zoe during our initial consultation when she told me that she and Jake met through Match.com. My husband and I met on Match as well, so Zoe and I instantly connected. She shared with me that her and Jake ended up working in the same building in Columbia, though they had never met. They took their first date to Murry’s, a cool Jazz restaurant, and they’ve been together ever since.
I absolutely love The Millbottom, an industrial wedding venue located in Jefferson City, Missouri, to host wedding celebrations, and this one was no exception. Zoe and Jake hosted an amazing celebration in August, which was equal parts gorgeous and FUN. Zoe opted for a classic black tie wedding, choosing to compliment the vibe with accents of greenery and gold. There was something quite timeliness about this wedding - though, it was a celebration for a true modern couple.
Though the couple is not from the Jefferson City area, they chose The Millbottom as their wedding venue partially because of the open vendor policy. They could hire exactly who they wanted to be part of their celebration, and they absolutely picked a top-notch vendor team to make their day happen.
I remember Zoe telling me that they really wanted their wedding to feel like a big party; rather than getting bogged down by wedding traditions, they opted out of toasts, a head table, or any sort of bouquet toss. However, their evening party include a lively dance floor and karaoke. Of course, the bride chose to change out of her bridal gown into a stunning sequin cocktail dress to party the night away…though a little too much booty popping resulted in the groom and the bride getting stuck together by a sequin. Congratulations again to these sweet, sweet humans!
A big thank you to Zoe & Jake for allowing us to be part of their special day. It was an incredible experience for all to be had, and we are so thankful. Thank you Black Coffee Photo Co. for capturing this amazing wedding day!

I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!
I’ve created this blog and my wedding packages to empower you to plan an awesome wedding day and put all of the stress and obligations straight into the dumpster! Now that sounds like a party.
