A Clifftop Engagement Session| Ali + Clayton

M-I-Z-L-O-V-E isn’t that how the chant goes?

Maybe not, however that’s the love song Ali and Clayton were singing when the two met freshman year in college. This couple share a fun, bubbly vibe and they are ready to bring all the personally touches to their wedding day. The Plan it Terra team is excited to celebrate their wedding day, bringing in the New Year at a place located near Ali’s home town: The Foundry 324, an industrial venue located in Sedalia, MO.

To learn more about what Ali + Clayton have planned, and their storybook purposal be sure to keep reading.

This engagement gallery was shot by our friend, Kyla Taylor Photography. We look forward to collaborating with her and the other amazing vendors Ali + Clayton have put together for their special day!

Tell me about how you and justin met.

Clayton and I met while attending college at the University of Missouri. We met our first week of freshmen year and started dating towards the end of that year. Our relationship kicked off after a fraternity formal in Nashville!

Who proposed? Tell me about it!

Clayton and I were in Traverse City celebrating our birthdays (our birthdays are one week apart). He had originally planned to propose at the Sleeping Bear Dunes towards the end of the weekend but last minute decided to propose at sunset the evening before! We kept the news to ourselves that night and broke the news to our family and friends the next day. Looking back we are so glad we got to enjoy the evening to celebrate ourselves!

How did you pick the Foundry 324 as your wedding venue?

The Foundry 324 is near my hometown. It's a newer venue that has a beautiful, industrial interior that I have always wanted in a wedding venue. The Foundry checked off all the items I wanted in a venue and has been a pleasure to work with so far!

How did you find all of your vendors?

Most of my vendors I had either followed on social media or were local to the area. We were lucky enough to secure most of our preferred vendors due to having over a year to plan the wedding.

So far, what aspect of planning has been the most enjoyable?

The most enjoyable aspects have been adding our personal touches to all the details. Most of our details have a story or a reason behind them. It has been a fun, yet challenging way to figure out how to incorporate our favorite things into our wedding day.

Do you have any advice for recently engaged couples?

Secure your favorite vendors early on! Also, make the wedding your own and don't stress about following traditions.

What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?

We are most excited for the dueling pianos! Clayton and I spent many nights at Piano Bar in Columbia while we were in college so bringing this memory to our wedding day makes it even more special to us.

what are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?

Together, Bubbly, Cheers

What made you decide to hire a planner?

I have had a lot of first hand experience helping with weddings professionally and as a friend. I understand the random nuances that can come up the day of did not want to designate any of my friends or family with those responsibilities because I wanted them all to focus on having a great time the day of the wedding. Hiring Terra and her team has already been extremely helpful with the direction they lead you in with monthly timelines, a portal to track your details, and them asking all the questions you never even considered.

Hey, I’m Terra!

Born and raised in Missouri, I’m a grateful wife and dog mom to my rescue pups, Hildi & Lola. I’m a true believer in the pursuit of bold dreams, learning from mistakes, and staying curious.

I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!

I’ve created this blog and my wedding packages to empower you to plan an awesome wedding day and put all of the stress and obligations straight into the dumpster! Now that sounds like a party.
