Vibrantly Bold Wedding Inspiration | Mercantile Event Center in Boonville, Missouri
This vibrantly bold wedding shoot at the new Mercantile Event Center has pops of coral, persimmon, and blush woven into each design detail including floral, paper goods, and design details. Accents of gold complimented the poppy hues and played homage to the venue’s gold chandeliers.
In the charming Missouri town of Boonville, just 30 minutes from Columbia, Missouri is a new (but vintage) event venue that is both charming and elegant. The venue boasts a large storefront, allowing ample natural light, plenty of parking (that’s a plus!), a completely renovated kitchen and bathrooms, and gorgeous chandeliers. Welcome to Mercantile Event Center!
I had the great pleasure of partnering with Pretty Little Things to plan and lead an open house and styled shoot for the new venue. With a desire to create a space that was inviting, bubbly, and vibrant, we knew we needed an all-star team to bring the space to life.
THE LOOKS
This dark, hunter green suit by Savvi Formalwear is traditional with a twist. Instead of selecting a more traditional suit color, this green attire allows for the vibrant pinks and yellows of the boutonniere to stand out. Choosing complimentary colors adds a unique pop to the overall color story.
This stunningly ornate a-line bridal gown from Breeze Bridal is quite fun! The textures in this gown and the unique pattern modernizes a traditional bridal gown silhouette.

THE INVITATION SUITE
With a fearless color palette selected, Forget Not Paper absolutely nailed an invitation suite that perfectly compliments the bridal bouquet and all other florals. Fun fact: all calligraphy you see is done by hand!
CEREMONY SITE
One of the greatest aspects of Mercantile Event Center is the soft, muted walls. They provided the perfect backdrop for out bold floral ceremony installation designed by Sugarberry Blooms. We love stunning ceremony installations!

THE TABLESCAPES
When thinking about surprise elements with this poppy shoot, we chose a mix of linen textures. Tables linens included velvet to crushed fabrics. A mix of texture is a fun way to modernize any wedding or event.

Hey, I’m Terra Nickelson!
Born and raised in Missouri, I’m a grateful wife and dog mom to my rescue pups, Hildi & Lola. I’m a true believer in the pursuit of bold dreams, learning from mistakes, and staying curious.
I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!
I’ve created this blog and my wedding packages to empower you to plan an awesome wedding day and put all of the stress and obligations straight into the dumpster! Now that sounds like a party.
