Kelly + David | A Classic Country Club Wedding in Jefferson City, Missouri

Kelly and David are two very busy professionals, both who were working in the Washington DC area at the time of their engagement. Kelly grew up in Jefferson City, Missouri, and it was only fit to return home to get married. While Kelly and David were on top of all things related to planning, they knew that hiring a planner would be critically important to the overall enjoyment of their day. According to Kelly, they hired our team because they wanted to enjoy their time with friends and family and not be distracted by the little details that they would possibly forget to account for. Kelly and David exchanged their vows this past summer at the Jefferson City Country Club. Their ceremony was held outside on the club’s driving range, and a tasteful reception followed inside the venue’s ballroom space. Kelly and David selected a refined color palette of whites, creams, navy, and teal with accents of gold.
We asked Kelly, “What made you choose to work with Plan it Terra? Why did that matter to you?”
“We knew we wanted a planner, and wanted someone with a personal referral. When we heard that you had started your own wedding planning business, we knew you would be great at it. You have always been organized, polite, and easy to work with. Seeing you in action planning the wedding was a whole other level of awesome though! You can tell you really love what you do and you are fantastic at it.”
This beautiful, sunny June afternoon was perfect for an outdoor wedding at the country club. The creative team of US Rents It and Joanne Rotert did a fabulous job of decorating the ceremony space; it was welcoming and refined. One of the sweetest moments of the ceremony was definitely the reciting of the vows; it was hard to hold back the tears as David and Kelly tearfully expressed their love and commitments to each other.
After the ceremony, the couple took family formals and bride/groom portraits outside on the golf course. This allowed guests to seamlessly flow towards cocktail hour inside the venue. Guests were greeted by the beautiful sounds of live piano music, delicious cocktails, and yummy snacks.
After some beautiful portraits around the Jefferson City Country Club, the couple joined their guests for the reception. US Rents It provided elevated decor items and lovely string lighting over the dance floor to create soft, romantic space. Upon entering the reception, the bride’s parents gave a toast to the couple and prayed over the meal. Later in the reception, everyone enjoyed a few wonderful speeches, cake cutting, and some special dances with loved ones.
Kelly and David decided to make their exit via sparklers. As our team escorted everyone outside, the couple had one last dance with each other, privately, on the dance floor.
We provided Event Management services for Kelly and David which included attending a variety of planning meetings, creating a detailed timeline, attending a venue walkthrough, working through logistics with vendors, facilitating the rehearsal, managing their wedding day, and so much more.

HIGHLIGHTS
Kelly + David decided to do a private last dance at the end of their reception, which was something they were orignally skeptical of doing. However, at the end of the day, this was one of their top two favorite moments from the wedding day. The couple danced privately to “Catch the Rider” by The DuBarrys.
For their unity ceremony, Kelly and David decided to write love letters to each other and seal them with a wax seal. These letters will be read to each other on their first wedding anniversary.
This classic wedding was incredibly tasteful and inviting. Our favorite piece of decor had to be the statement floral urns designed for the outdoor ceremony space. Our team later moved these urns to the head table, which completely elevated the look of the table.
