6 Hidden Benefits of Hiring a Coordinator

I get it; you have friends and family that have offered up their time to help with your wedding day. They’ve helped you plan from day one, and you want to ensure that all your plans come together smoothly. But maybe you’ve started to think, “Do I need to hire a day-of coordinator?”

You’re day-of coordinator (or what I refer to as an Event Manager) is the eyes and ears on your wedding day. They are fully present on your wedding day to answer questions, assist vendors, and provide love and care to the little details of your wedding day. This is so that you and your loved ones can focus on being present with each other, celebrating, and creating memories.

Here’s my list of 6 Hidden Benefits of Hiring a Coordinator for your wedding day.

Your other vendors will thank you

Your vendor team is present to make your wedding day enjoyable, beautiful, and seamless. The last thing they want to do is bother you with last minute questions on the day of your wedding. Commonly, your coordinator will have existing relationships with your vendors and establish connections from vendor-to-vendor, which develops a collaborative environment for your wedding day. Your vendors will breath easy knowing that you’ve hired a professional for your wedding day that will answer their questions so you can focus on being with those you love most.

They think of things you haven’t considered

Just when you’ve thought of everything, your coordinator will offer up a suggestion or a thought that never crossed your mind. Why? They’re an expert in their field, and they’ve planned enough weddings to see a lot!

Your coordinator wants to ensure your wedding day goes seamlessly by offering as much in-advance support as possible. I provide Event Management services, which involves plenty of support prior to the month of you wedding event plus during your wedding weekend.

They’re a warm, calm, and upbeat face on your wedding day

We all know that our friends and family can drive us crazy sometimes especially when you’re around them all day. Insert your wedding coordinator; they’re an outside source of joy on your wedding day whose job is to help minimize your stress and keep a smile on your face. They can be your sounding board on the day of your wedding, and they’re your #1 gal pal that day.

They’re little event fairy godmothers (although they don’t grant wishes)

You probably won’t be aware of all the little things your wedding coordinator will take care of while your busy celebrating with your guests and beloved. Your gifts and cards may be loaded into a designated vehicle or lighting candles before your guests arrive to cocktail hour. Your coordinator will sometimes even assist with the beginning stages of clean up such as collecting those rented linens that’ll need to be returned.

They’ll help make decisions

As your wedding day gets closer, you’ll be exhausted from making decisions. You’ll begin to defer answers and resolutions to your family or bridal party, and they with all good intention want to do you justice and make the right decision. Not that you’re a bridezilla, but they know your wedding day is important and special to you. Your wedding coordinator can help make decisions leading up to your wedding and make strategic decisions on your wedding day for any last minute catches, questions, or suggestions. I vividly think of instances where a bride gets asked something on their wedding day, and they look to me for a decision.

They’re your wedding day champion

Wedding coordinators are in your corner to provide support and encouragement. They do their jobs with the desire to serve and love others well, plus we want you to truly celebrate boldly. They understand that their support goes beyond wedding management; it involves being a trustworthy person who can provide unbiased emotional support. Your coordinator will do the most to ensure your wedding day goes on without a hitch; however, as in life some things may go astray. Unlike venue coordinators who work primarily on behalf of the venue, your wedding coordinator is YOUR champion.

Born and raised in Missouri, I’m a grateful wife and dog mom to my rescue pups, Hildi and Lola. I’m a true believer in the pursuit of bold dreams, learning from mistakes, offering joy, and staying curious.

I'm a girl that lives in her Chacos during the summer, and I'm typically always wearing lipstick. Yes, red is my preference! When I'm not helping engaged couples plan weddings, you'll find me on stage teaching Jazzercise classes. Needless to say, creating engaging experiences that leave people feeling good afterwards is my passion. Seriously!

I’ve created this blog and my wedding packages to empower you to plan an awesome wedding day and put all of the stress and obligations straight into the dumpster! Now that sounds like a party.
